Objectives:
To distribute hot samples of Bernard Matthews’s products through a road show food sampling campaign at major retailers around the country and raising brand awareness with the consumers and retailers alike. Other requirements of the brief included raising the profile of certain products often in conjunction with other marketing tools such as TV advertising campaigns and in-store promotions.
Overview:
Two identical sampling units with the capability for producing both cold and hot samples were utilized along with the option of providing ‘show cooking’. While the chefs would give cooking demonstrations and recipe ideas in the commercial standard mobile kitchen; promotional staff were armed with trays of samples around the trailer and near the store entrance to be distributed.
Results:
Research showed, that the pastries were very well received, especially once tasted. The Road Show retail event increased sales up-lift by around 2000% and was so successful, that Bernard Matthews went on to run eight other periods of activity through PromoPower.
